I believe it can be restored but what I read it doesnt always get rid of the virus since its on the hardrive

I think the solution is that you might have to restore Windows if you had a disk with the machine it is OK, Arthur says that most modern machines have a system that allows this.
I expect like me you do not want the worry though.

that really sucks about the virus! at least it is fixable. I remember when the hallmark virus came out. i got it but unplugged my pc before it could do damage to my pc...

I would say it's the equipment. It seems like everything goes up at once, going with the whole, "When it rains, it pours."

I had one once and there was a program that killed it, but my brother did it thankfully,
I suppose you could try going back to a time before you were affected, I always try that as it is simple. Good luck.
