That would have been too wonderful - we would probably be chuckling to ourselves trying to figure Hans Christan Andersen and his mystics.

Thank you Presta. I would love to share some of what I studied of him and his style of writing and what inspired him. We read up on the Red Shoes and yes it is unlike any other fairy tale. HCA had a penchant for writing fairy tales that are mythical and mysterious with a dark side to it. Right now we are doing "Little Mermaid" :)

Very interesting! I remember reading his fairy tales as a kid, and enjoyed them tremendously! And you certainly have an echo of that in your poem...

H. C. Andersen? Well...
Sounds interesting in the ears of a Dane.
I've been reading a lot of fairy tales and poems by Mr. Andersen, and I think your poem is a pretty nice shot.

the echo-in threes- jumped out at me.As did feet, pondering the climb,
and perhaps, in inappropriate shoes, for that time! Yes, to set out, with all one's hopes and fears, and yet trust Nature to reveal its stories, its riddles, its power over young and old. (OK, I will stop now).Shalom Shobana: keep on keeping on Poet

WoW Shobhana, that is how we Bengalees write and pronounce. Oh yes, wishing you all the luck you need. I found this style and subject brilliant! I am now going to give it a second read

Great poem. Such an interesting topic for a course. Enjoy! He was, uhh, quite different, in my opinion. The Red Shoes is a story so frightening, I can't understand why he would want to write it. But I have not studied him in depth. Enlightened, perhaps you can share more with us.
