Well, I'm not sure which is worse for a country, keeping everyone scared by continually warning them, or keeping everyone ignorant by not warning them at all.

It looks like The National Review is moving in the Trump direction...Screening people is definitely doomed to fail. After all, the pictures of the 9/11 Hijackers show men who looked very Western in terms of grooming and overall appearance...I think it would be difficult in getting mosques to be under sureveillance. Our Constitution would make that difficult to do, and while it could be ignored, the inevitable fallout would be costly to the political party that has it, I feel.

I think with the current scenario, every country has to be cautious when screening the immigrants. Its truly unfortunate that it has come to this stage where trust is questioned.

Thank you, Naut. It is interesting to see the changes in the NR within one year. There was much info to consider in this post.

It is not easy to walk into a country.
I can say first hand to everyone that it is not easy to become a Canadian and until you are a citizen there is a close watch. The years of expensive (all costs to me) and intrusive interviews and security checks and me and my family from since my parents were born and of sons and relatives was amazing. Nobody becomes a permanent person in this country without a lot of amazing scrutiny. And what I went through was mandatory which means no one can slip through the system or if they do somehow they better keep very quiet and don't think of trying to work or see a doctor.
Twice people came to the house on pretence and checked that this was a real marriage and Wiley was my true sponsor.

I have to say those against screening any coming into your country is rediculous. We of any Nation have made it ours and need to keep it that way. The liberals come up with some of the most insane reasoning on this subject I have ever seen.
