That is the hing Sam if ever I moved , I would suss out the neighbors before I did.
Probably go into the pub and treat one or two locals, It would not be difficult, Of course you just hit it lucky. I remember your struggle to get it all sorted. Perhaps he would like a nice homemade cake occasionally.

You could still do a kind gesture....it doesn't have to be related or wrapped in holiday cheer...

How nice to have a good neighbor! My father lost most of his sight but he continued to do as much as was humanly possible. As for gifts for those with religious beliefs that don't allow that, we had a neighbor like that once. It was her daughter's birthday. The woman "just happened" to take her daughter shopping for some clothes around that time. She also thought it would be nice to take her daughter and a few friends to lunch around that special day. It would be acceptable I think, if you "just happened" to have a gift of some sort he could use. Not wrapped, simple, a thank you for doing all he does.

He is one more treasure in your treasure Valley, and I feel sorry for his losing eyesight, but he is a man of grit. I have suffered the excruciating pain of seven surgeries on my eyes but I never lost hope. He just reminded me.
