Go for it LT. but don't or try not to think about things that will make you want to grab the postman. Joking aside try not to feel too intense it is too painful if things fall through as you know. Make sure he has not got a wife first. No harm in giving him a Valentine.

well yes offering a red kiss candy from a bag on valentine's day is hardly an offer to take you to bed. if nothing more happens it is a nice gesture to let a coworker know that he is one of the good guys.
