great poem!
I could feel the story within each and every word. It was real to life and made me want to keep reading it. I enjoy writing poetry but especially I enjoy writing Haiku poetry.

Pento
A poignant poem! It seems so long ago, but for those who lost loved ones it will always be the present...

Welcome. Very nicely told. And so sad. They who returned alive received little recognition, until perhaps now. We remember them all.

Excellent to me, for I walked that wall one evening, running my hand the length od those names. I said a prayer for them and for their families.

And the protagonist's an honorable man. Honor's forgotten in modern times. However, it's still important.

Sad and so very true. More sad though it is soon forgotten. Welcome to Blogit.
