It has been a long time since I washed meat. I used to do that with the Thanksgiving turkey. I'm surprised we didn't all die.

I have never rinsed or 'washed' meat or fish, and neither has my LSW. We have alwasy taken for granted that the cooking will take care of any bacteria. I have on rare occasions in the past sometimes de-scaled a fish, which does require rinsing, but that's a slightly differemt issue...

Oh, Justi, this is where I wish more people had a clue... Thank you. I used to wash off chicken and fish; well, everything! No more! I am extremely careful with food prep and cross-contamination possibilities, having gotten deathly ill several times from restaurant food. It's like playing Russian Roulette sometimes.
