That is really cool that you met him, Naut. He sounds like he led a very interesting life.
I still say Snoopy took care of the Red Barron, though.

Well he was pretty smart if he was in the plot to nobble Hitler. Most were strangled on piano wires so ii said at the time. Good blog Naut.

This entire post just tickles my fancy. I remember my father talking about Northern Dancer. What a horse! Such a fun read this was. And, one can't help but think of those six degrees of separation laced throughout your post! The Red Baron - and all the other amazing folks... Wow! Thank you.

My goodness, what a group of famous names all interlaced together, and one wonders if there was also some never spoken of stories of helping Jewish friends to quietly leave Germany in the 30's when the writing was well and truly on the wall.
