It does seem that many people do not understand Islam. It is amazing because technology has made it easier than ever to research.

I enjoyed this. We nursing students long time ago now had to study one year of political science. it opened my eyes to a lot that I had just accepted, not the least being that the faculty resented having to teach their pet subject to Nursing students and the consensus was that none of us could possibly receive more than a pass for the subject, being only lowly nurse students.
I wonder how some of them felt once in a Hospital and reliant on lowly Nursing staff for their every need.
ps I managed to achieve a credit both semesters. That broom has certainly had her uses.

I enjoyed reading the debating philosophy example that you used. I also enjoyed BC's comment, as well as everyone else's also. There's not much left I can add, other than Physics may not be as simple as C always being C, though it coud be so. I have heard there is much speculative theory within the circles of those who study the subject deeply, and what that is fascinates me! Even more than Sociology... LOL!

Interesting questions, and one thing that caught me
was your point about the social scientists themselves being part of the studied group and therefore not 100% objective. I know I'm biased but I try to allow for it, but have to admit some bases for making conclusions are not always as solid as I once felt they were...

A very good beginning. I must go back and read it again, make a few notes and check some things out for myself. I really like emphasis between teaching and preaching.

I enjoy hearing your thought process... weirdly, I find that more interesting than the subject! I suppose that is due to my interest in psychology and people? Or perhaps I just find you interesting!!
As for your bottom line... I feel that Christianity is a good comparison in that it IS evolving with time. The basis isn't in hatred (as with Islam) but that is not my point. My point is that fewer and fewer Christians are sticking to the rules as they were written... the super judgemental Christians are becoming less powerful. So my hope and constant question will be if those of Muslim faith can or will do the same.
Also... I would love to hear more about who YOU are? I'm intrigued.
