Oh, so true! The scent, scents in general - triggers to the mind. Some pleasant memories live again. I hope things are better for you now. And such a good and telling poem about what made you think of her!

Something potent in a scent, it can bring a memory in spite of
any effort at forgetting, or after eons... If I'm near a perfume counter and someone has spritzed the old standard Tabu, it takes me immediately to a rainy street in Seattle, 4th Ave., the Pike Street bus stop as a glamorous girl wrapped in fur and wearing stilettos ankles past, holding the Seattle Times above her coiffure.
