This was beautiful. It's amazing what little ones words will create.

I love the idea of a rainbow in the mirror. I must concentrate more on my inner child.

A rainbow
When my son was almost one year old, we were at our NM state fair and he began having a seizure. We had no idea what he was suffering as it was new and scary to us. His mother had him in her arms kneeling down as a state police officer knelt with her and I turned away for just a few seconds to look at something and when I turned back, my ex said to me, "Did you see that? That little boy just came and touched the baby's head and said, 'he'll be okay', and the seizure stopped." I looked around and there was no one near us at the time so I didn't see any child anywhere. I like to believe that it was an angel, cuz I could not see any child anywhere nearby to disappear so quickly. Just a thought. Peace

Re: what the eye sees
For me it was more what the eye can't see, while the heart and soul see different things.

Re: I like the mystical concept of your poem, sweet...
Thank you, my friend, but his eyesight is fine. It's his hearing that isn't there. My point was as we age, we become jaded and no longer believe and everything has an explanation and the beauty of innocence is lost. Mystical..I love it!

I like the mystical concept of your poem, sweet...
But as one with cataracts, I see halos around lights, especially in the dark. It might be an idea to get the baby an eye exam.

Oh, a double rainbow of beauty on your poem! Kudos to you! I love the idea, great poem, and it brought back childhood memories because it rang so true. Really nice, and what a treat to have your grandson close to you. They are so precious.
