The trouble is Jean that the birds build earlier due to artificial lighting. It is the same with children. Lucky little bird though and very brave to attack in defense. The council will not cut hedges after a certain date , it all helps nature. I notice the blackbirds are nesting under any old shed or protected corner. Hope you are keeping better,always nice to read you.

Thank you for sharing this one. And for not going ahead with
cutting the tree until the nestlings can fly... Somehow these days any act of humanity and caring just makes me happy.
