Sounds like you are doing the best you can do. We only once had to have a kitty put down. She was old, and had gone blind, and then seemed to be unable to move, yet would try desperately to jump into the bathroom sink, and made it! She seemed fixated on the faucet and we thought she wanted water. But she would not drink from her water dish. Eventually she just went aroiund in circles and declined in health. It was sad but the best thing for her since she was meowing in pain constantly.

I have gone through losing 4 of my six dogs this past 4 years....they were 12 - 14 years old. Each died naturally at home.  As long as they are not suffering I wanted them to go naturally......my vet says as long as they are not suffering they don't need to be put down.
