Re: Kabu, Sassyass,

As soon as someone new arrives, everyone else seems to forget how little time their own family has been in a place. And the bullying they suffered, they pass on, as if it is supposed to work that way.

Re: Annicita,

I am referring to the earliest seeds out of which our nations grew. Add in those discards from other countries, voluntary or not, and we're getting into the seeds of America's schizoid/'dissociative identity disorder.'

Very interesting resource here, clarifying these and bipolar disorder:

It wasn't just the Puritans. People were sent to the colonies for their crimes.

An interesting concept. So many suffered coming here.

Re: That is horrible, Kabu. Immigrants to America met the same abuse.

The Irish, Italian, Slovakian, and German immigrants who came to America were treated with prejudice. They were viewed as violent due to pure ignorance. These immigrants simply wanted a better life for their families who worked 16 hour days in the coal mines and steel mills for very little pay.

Yes, we all make choices.

Unfortunately, those who make damaging choices force those who do the right thing each day to pay the ultimate sacrifice. Our freedom is compromised, taxes are raised, and we live in fear where instead we should be enjoying the short life that we have been given.
