Re: Sea Gypsy
Admittedly, I did not feel anything. I knew that day would come.

How did you feel about Uncle Willy’s passing? It’s not easy to lose those about whom we care.

Obviously your parents loved your Uncle Willie despite all his short comings.

Re: adnohr
Uncle Willy ewas my Dad's first cousin. I called him uncle because he was way older than me as a sign of respect.

Oh my, that is so sad. No daughter should ever have to experience that.
Sixty-five is still so young. He had so much more living to do had he have quit his bad habits. So sorry for your loss. No family member passing is ever a good thing.

My family was from the 1920s... On my Mom's side, I had 11 aunts and uncles, on my Dad's side I had 12 aunts and uncles. (Back then the children were the helping hands.)
During my school years it seemed like I was going to a funeral once a month.

I take it Uncle Willy was your dad's brother? It doesn't matter how they live their lives - losing a sibling hurts.
