By all means they sound too big to realize that a cashier would be good.

I am so slow and uncomfortable at self-checkouts. I don't do it often as P.D. does my shopping most of the time. But, things are so different now...for someone born in the 1930's.

I really don't like self-service stores. There is always something that goes wrong and then you really do need a cashier to help you. When they don't take cash it's even worse because there are people that only like to pay with cash. Then there is the most important fact of all I do not like that a cashier's job has been replaced by a machine.

I never liked that service. It always seemed to have snags.

Smart thinking. Having a human in place is a big help when one is needed.
I have used many self check-out registers where a problem has occurred in one form or another, and the assistance of a cashier was needed to complete the transaction. I am sure that cigarette sales are big when you consider the price for a pack of those cancer sticks.
