As long as you have the same dad intact.

One can't expect an 8 yr old to understand what you do now, as an adult, I am sure.

FSI, I'm glad your Dad was in the Ford when he had the accident!  I'm sure that truck kept him from getting hurt.  They are very sturdy vehicles. Black ice is so dangerous. I can imagine you as a little boy and not understanding about the truck. I know how you felt.  Great post!

Awh, poor Dad with the truck accident. And poor you not understanding that it was totaled. Kids think things that parents miss sometimes.

I like the body guy's response. He was obviously way ahead in honesty than the insurance company!

Thankfully, your dad was not hurt. A Dodge is nothing like a Ford truck.

It amazes me at what the insurance companies consider "totaled." We had a Cavalier that was in excellent condition with very low miles that we used as a commuter car. I was t-boned by a lady driving a Honda Odyssey. The only dent was below the door on the rocker panel. State Farm classified the car as totaled. We had paid $3,300 for the car, but only received $2,800 for the loss, the amount the car was worth on the books.
