I've seen an elderly woman with a cane shake to loud elevator music in a doctor's office - that was a type, the original Muzak.

For me it depends of what type of music it is that I'm hearing. If it sounds like a funeral dirge, then no. If it is something pleasant to my ears, then it sure does. There is a gas station here in a less desireable part of a town that plays classical music - loudly, on speakers throughout the property.

Yes
I believe that music is a mood lifter in most instances, including when we don't feel our best.
