Just as a theist is a believer, likewise, an atheist too is a believer (of sorts). He believes in God not being there. Science does not need religion, nor does religion need science, but the point is that humanity needs both. When it is good times man may not require any beliefs; when times are adverse, he clings for god's Mercy. So even beliefs are temporal and such beliefs are worth nothing, those that keep shifting. That's my POV..

Love this post. As I always say, I do believe and no Church could keep me closer to my God than nature does.
