Re: I would have to refuse constant 5 days, Kabu.
It would wear me out!! I still have to be careful with that stove - I keep forgetting to check it after I'm working around it!

Re: I drink decaff when I wake during the night, CCT
Much better for me, I dare say. My lemon tea with honey is a treat, but comes in bags too. I do let them steep for the required 3 minutes though.

Re: If you were closer, i would go and pick you up myself!
They enjoyed it, except for Little Flea, who is at the age where only raw veggies are acceptable.

Re: It works ok now, without all the moaning, Goldiec.
I think maybe it was like a motor that hasn't been used for a long time - groaning when it gets put back to work. I haven't made zucchini bread for a long while. You have given me the desire to make some now.

I agree about the stove controls, Pat_B, but never really paid
attention to it until the stove was installed. The percolator has not been used for years, and no longer makes the moaning sound. I guess its working contraption was flexing on starting up after so long.

I have never used a keurig. I hope you were able to get your cup of joe.

always enjoy collecting my smiles from you. I do hope they don't push you into too many 5 day weeks. Not fair and not what you signed up for. The stove story is hilarious and making me smile back to you.

When it comes to any sort of appliances, it does seem that they all need to have an exorcism.

Oh! dear Adnohr l just shake a wee bit of de-caffinated coffee into a cup pour on hot
water and full cream milk. It is reasonable. I seem to have gone off of teabags.
I guess it seems wimpish to you.

I loved this post! I'm glad you figured out what was going on with the stove. It would have taken me a while to come up with an answer. As long as it's not possessed I'm good. If there was the least chance it was it would be sitting outside. The family would have come over and wondered how I got the stove outside all by myself. I think fear gives a person superhuman strength. The meal with your family will be awesome and I look forward to hearing about all the smiles and laughter that follow a day like this. I just put zucchini bread in the oven to bake and it smells so good. As far as the coffee situation I have no idea what that sound is coming from it. I would have to do some research. There's probably a gizmo in there somewhere that isn't quite right. I hope you have a great day.

Good afternoon
Groaning appliances add character to the ambiance of the whole kitchen experience. I have a few that make strange noises, but so long as they fulfill their obligations, I am willing to deal with their quirks.

I like the flavor of the perc'd coffee, but the Keurig is so convenient...
I prefer a stove with the controls at the back where little hands can't reach. Never had the specific on-off trouble due to being well-endowed, (darnit), but I can see how that might happen. The moaning coffeemaker is an eyebrow-raiser, though. Wonder what actually makes the sound...
