Suicide is so final and leaves behing feelings of guilt and what if????/ probably no one was going to be able to help him...it just is what it is. I am sorry it happened to someone you knew, but it is like someone who is an alcoholic. If they are going to take that next drink you can't stop them and if someone really intends to die then they will.

Suicides are so awfully traumatic for those left behind....leaving so many "What If's" on so many minds.

We can all be wise after the event. Daily troubles are usually enough to keep one's mind off of endless possibilities. Sad as it is you could not have know.

Good morning

I am so sorry for your loss. May he finally rest in peace. He was the same age as my dad when he made that drastic decision. Suicide has always been a mystery to me. Not always do the victims let you know that they are in serious need of help. I know that my dad hid it well before he killed himself. I have three author friends who have killed themselves over the past few years. They gave no indication that they were headed in that direction. Unless you are really close to someone, you never really know what their thinking or what triggers send them to that dark place. I have learned that most victims of suicide have a tendency to smile when they are really sad inside.

Good Morning

FSI, I have no words to express how sorry I am that you lost someone you went to school with and I'm going to say prayers for Avery.  He was a troubled soul.
