Re: C.C......Taps

You see Taps it was before your time/ Villages were isolated there was no steady jobs unless one was a Blacksmith or a farmer. Or a poor little girl working in in one of the big houses for a pittance and sometimes something they did not want.

Re: Sherri

The real problem was no work in the villages most had to rely on farms to give men a few days work. If one was an ex soldier with no trade it meant trying to get odd jobs in the local vicinity one could not get far on a bicycle and sadly the public house was the only recreation.

C.C......

I was one of seven children.  At the time I was not aware that some people thought of us as poor.  My Mom & Dad were hard workers and with vegetable gardens, chickens and ingenuity and always working, we all made it through.

Thank you to that kind lady but yes it was her position to take care of those who were hungry. Life has always been tough for some, and mostly not their fault. I fear that the USA is heading in that direction where a few folks hold too much of the money and don't intend to share it.

I have always wondered how large families made do with little money or food. Big pots of soup filled with creativity and plenty of loaves of homemade baked bread are my guess as to how they survived.
