- Go to When the Chicken Pox Came
I don't remember how I caught chicken pox when I was seven, but I remember my mom keeping the room dark, making me sleep, and reminding me not to scratch. Today, I have a reminder due to one small scar it left behind near my eyebrow on the side of my face. 🙄

One could not avoid it in the olden days one caught everything going Mumps measles Glandular fever, Chicken pox. It seemed just normal and Whooping cough. I suppose it was natural at that time and having one's tonsils out.Â

Yes all those childhood illnesses were so easily caught. Big sister when she started school caught everything, measles chickenpox diphtheria, mumps, etc. and then passed them on to me. I am so grateful we have injections against these.. and polio.Â
