- Go to I GROW OLDER, MY PARENTS DIE
bpsibley, thank you for sharing your loss. The ages are so very
close to the death of my parents. I am glad that time can heal, and loving and fond memories can also heal the passing time!

Sassyass 64, Thank you for those kind words. Yes, I know that
60 is not old, but I want to learn from my Mom and Dad how to grow older gracefully!

Manarch, love and honor them now, and you will not have
to regret or deeply mourn their death, but celebrate their life!

I'm so sorry...
It's so hard to lose our parents. My mother died in 1996 just a couple of weeks after she turned 80. My dad died in 1985 at 83. It gets easier as time passes, but I never stop missing them. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

I am sorry for your loss. It is wonderful that you had so many good years with both your parents but even so it is never easy.
I lost my father when I was 24.

I am sorry for your loss
At any age it can't be easy losing a parent. I lost my Dad when I was 15. My Mom is only 55, and I pray that she is around until she is 105. By the way, 60 is not old. You are only as old as you feel.

Poet3,
I'm very sorry about your mom. I do love how you view the positive side of her passing. I use quite similar words when doing a funeral sermon.
I too believe your mom is back Home with God and has no more pain and no more need for the body that grew old. My prayers are with you.

I can't imagine it myself
Being only 26, both my parents are still here.
I dread the day when either one passes.
