It is interesting to read what was going on in the poet's life when the poem was written.

I like most of your delves into the reasons why a poet should write        
 
 
 With whitening hedges, and uncrumpling fern
            And bluebells trembling the forest ways
             And scent of  hay new mown.?
 
Sadly there would not be much hay around when there are bluebells etc.
Years ago folk here used to go to a wood and come back with large  bunches of blue bells.
Sadly they would pull the stems out of the bulbs. Years later there was notice explaining
that this practice would kill the bulb and advised cutting the stalk instead. That was in the good old days, I suspect there are notices barring entry to that wood today.
