my heart aches for the people who have lost everything and I wonder how many have reliable insurance. I don't want to but I keep reading news on my laptop and phone.

It truly is an unpredictable and alarming situation. Every day I hope to read that the fires have been put out only to learn the winds are picking up again. I don't know how much more the residents can take. All we can do is hope and pray that it will end ASAP. 🙏

I don't think Scotland would burn for long it always seems colder than anywhere else .Join the club I was told just to mime during singing lessons. I could whistle though and throw my voice. I don't know what the answer is to those fires, one would have thought last year was bad enough. Twenty or so years ago the farmers here burned the straw in the fields it was madness really, but of course it was only in patches and mostly surrounded by greenery.🌺

TAPS - I don't know the song about Scotland burning but I will look it up.
Oh, my goodness - the pitch pipe! I remember that. Yes, indeed, in Catholic school starting in first grade, Sister Mary Whatever was the dreaded nun who instilled a fear into all the kids for their time in the entire 8 grades. Well, before "Singing/Music," she'd use that round pitch pipe so everyone was on key. I loved to sing. So I sang as loudly and fervently as my little voice could sing. And at the end of the song, Sister Mary Whatever came to my desk and said, "Girlie, not so loud, you can't even sing on key." In first grade, it really hurt. I never sang much after that, never could sing, but I love music.
As to the fires, those who can afford it will find housing. God help them all. It is so awful it is beyond words. I pray that the people will get the assistance they need NOW so they can go on. Many are not young. All we can do is pray for them all. Now the questions begin. Why oh why wasn't that first puff of smoke put out ASAP when it was reported? And reported it was. The winds hadn't begun then.
