very quiet day here I should be writing but am doing nothing. I am so happy we don't have to worry about broken pipes etc.

Thank you, Ladies!

We didn't need to travel yesterday. I split my day between writing and working on the remodel project. Lisa was packing a few things out of our bedroom because it's the next room project.

Lisa told me that I needed to clone myself to be everywhere I needed to be. If the deal on this new property goes through, I will be living in a super quiet area, only visited by deer and the occasional bear or two (and yes, we saw one there!) and no one else.

One day, we sat outside by the stream that forms a small lake for three hours and never heard a car, a human voice, or anything else. What we did hear were birds, a dozen squirrels, and utter tranquility.

I didn't realize how much I had begun to dislike being around people until the hurricanes took down all but four or five of our trees. Now, I can look out my backdoor and see at least a dozen homes, complete with kids and teens who 'just wanna have fun' at 2 am. LOL. I don't really mind it, but I'm tired of the city noises.  I want to be alone with my wife and our dogs. I still 'like' people... but on my terms and not on happenstance all the time.

LOL... I sound like that typical old man yelling at kids to "get off of my yard."

I'm not really, but something inside me is yearning to be alone with my 'family.' We are happy, and there aren't many people who can say that right now. We LOVE to be together. We can sit outside, hold hands, and talk for a long time. OR we can sit and take in the wonder of the things around us.

Sorry. I apologize for the rant.
V

Glad your pipes thawed. Yes, it’s been on our news here about the cold in your area. Stay warm.

Winter sucks. Which is why many snowbirds head to Florida each winter. I hope, if you get measurable snow, that you brought a snow shovel with you from the frozen north.  Hope your writing day goes A-OK!
