Re: Sea_Gypsy

Lily had eight pups that are now about five weeks old. They are the cutest things I've seen in a while. She was highly protective of them for the first few weeks, but I can see she is getting tired of her "little parasites!"  I bought a playpen for them, allowing her to slip in, feed them, and then slip out to nap beside them. Zeus, their proud daddy, helps clean faces and backsides and occasionally gently roughhousing with them. For first-time parents, I think they are doing quite well.

Re: Kabu

That's all you can do, my friend. You do what you can when you can. If it makes you happy, then your goal was met.

I can imagine how much fun it is to watch the dogs play. They are so cute.

I spent my life working and now I am not so well, I do what I can when I can.

Re: Pat

As paramedics, we worked odd hours. We worked 24- and 48-hour shifts. You might never leave the base, but you might also never get back to the base to clean up or change uniforms.  You had to be flexible.

Lisa 'gives me' 90 minutes in the morning and usually another 90 minutes just before it gets dark.  She calls her friends and family or watches a movie or TV show she has recorded.  I almost always ask her if she 'minds' if I sneak back into my office to work. I know Life is easier if I am willing to spend more time with her.

I can write anytime I sit down but can't always have 'our time,' so I clear it with her. Life can fray if she gets upset because I don't 'watch a movie' with her.  It's not worth it. We are a team, and I learned long ago working with the big Belgian workhorses we had. One horse might get the job done, but when both horses work together, they can move nearly anything.

I love my wife and do my best to keep her happy. It's easy to do if I give her enough 'us time.'

It's nice to have a flexible schedule. I worked 50 years in offices that were 8-5. It's good to see your reports about being productive/creative when the time is right.
