Re: Aba Brother

Yes Sister, there are people who derive orgiastic delight in seeing destruction and the ravages caused by war. Politics and politicians for example. Israel is not in favor in ending their war over Hamas, the Islamic resistance movement. Russia and the Ukraine’s imbroglio remains unentangled as ever. The greatest 19th century poet T.S. Eliot’s masterly catching the image and insensitivity of waste in the Waste Land and the madness that takes ages to die is a case in point. You say this quite sensitively, so also do Kabu, Sherri and C C T. Tx sis for your praise. You humble me often.🌬️☂️🌹

Hello Kabu ma’am,

Who doesn’t? But I must confess that in my younger days I envisioned myself as an ace air pilot. The most glorious job ever. Of course my dream didn’t come through as my elder brother died of an air crash in his Air Force trains years and my mom never let me go. The waste of all wars are almost impossible to reconcile with.

Re: Re: Dear C C T and Aba,

I have heard of such tales before but this is the first time I have actually known of it really happening. It does restore one's faith in humanity - that is, until the one soldier didn't return. Thank you for sharing how it is possible to have a bit of hope amidst the ways of war.Red rose

Re: CCT

This is, indeed, a very sad thing to have happened to your grandfather. I am terribly sorry. The poor man must have suffered so much. May he rest in peace now.Red rose

Re: Dear C C T,

Sorry to learn that about your grandfather. You are right in saying that these unsavory events promote camaraderie in the real sense. It reminded me of a soldier from the Pakistani army who would in the free time, meet at the border, often exchange tete e tete, have tea and jokes. One day he did not as usual, find him …. his partner was shot dead. And when he was missing, he realized the loss and felt thoroughly grief stricken; such goes the tale of love among strangers.

Re: Sherri G,

So also do I enjoy learning new things, and perhaps everyone here at Blogitsville teach one another some new things unknown to them before. Just as you and others do to me. Thanks a lot for your continued readership. 🐣🌷

Aba Brother

Your insight into the writer and his style was so informative and interesting to read! I really enjoyed this post. There are no winners in war but there are losers. There is no beauty in war but all see its uglyness. Yet a part of humanity seems to bring about wars. The poet mentioned here is the sum all of the parts, perhaps. Well done. Well told! 🌹😀❌⭕️👏

I hate war...this really tells me I am right so to hate it.

One can feel the intended bleakness. Those alive so near to death that a strange comradeship evolves. My Grandfather came back from that war on leave he was riddled with lice. He was absolutely filthy. The stupid rector grumbled at him for not being smartly dressed and buttons not shining witch was a fatal thing to have with snipers everywhere. Grandmother had to drag him back to return. Or be shot as a deserter. He was killed a week later.

Interesting. I enjoy learning new things. I have never heard of pararhyming, but I looked up its meaning and learned that poets use pararhyme for several different reasons, the most important being that they want words to rhyme but don’t want the rhyme scheme to be overpowering. NotepadGirl hug
