Re: Pat
I try to respect the wind that comes off the Gulf Stream. It can be right down nasty some days!

Re: Kabu
Amen! The backyard is HUGE, and the jungle was so thick that three weeks after we started cleaning it, we discovered an old small house in the middle of it all. It has taken us almost three years to turn a dense jungle into a semi-decent backyard. There were hundreds of pounds of broken glass back there.
The house is very sound, but the electrical wiring needed to be completely renovated. We are redoing the ceilings after Hurricane Helene ripped the roof off. Between the three hurricanes that hit us, they knocked down about 40 big trees. We've cut them all up and have removed them now. It's a work in progress, but it gives us something to do together.

The house and land must have been a mess when you bought it but slowly it is coming together really nicely. Well done.

Fire danger in our little village in the Cascade Mountain foothills was a constant as I was growing up. I still hate forest fires - so thank you for taking good care. Green is good.
