Thank you! The storm has moved north of us, and while we may get some rain in the morning, it will not be as severe as the storm that bypassed us today.
As of ~7:30 this evening, the hot streak has continued. I'm working to add one last story to my sci-fi collection of 'scary stories,' which will enable me to submit not one but two manuscripts for publication together as separate books.
The first will be titled "That Russian Guy Down the Road," and the second will be "A Tear in Time & Other Short Stories from the Edge of What We Think We Know."
Do I make a lot of money doing this? It depends on what you consider a 'lot of money,' but I average about $200-$350 a month. It helps; that is for certain! But ya gotta remember, I have at least 40+ novels, novellas (less than 38,000 words), and 35 Audible books. I have a lot of 'bait in the water' for potential readers.
I also write various genres under a female name. I'm writing them, but I've discovered women generally won't buy romance stories written by a male. I had what I thought were four really good romance stories online that were maybe selling 2 or 3 copies a year. Within a month of changing the author's name to a female one, they were selling a dozen or more copies every month. "The things you do for love..." stories!
I write simply because it makes me happy. The blip at the bottom of all my emails says:
Writing is the only thing that I don't feel I should be doing anything else when I do it.
And that's the truth!

I tell most people this, and they think I'm kidding, but writing is medicine for me. I can be upset or not feeling the best, but as soon as I get writing, my brain relaxes and only worries about what I'm writing. I've loved to write since I was six, and I've been doing it since first grade!

I suppose we writers all have a folder of stories we never finished. Jim wants me to write a book of incidents that surrounded me, sometimes including me on the peripheral re faith in God. Still considering it actually.

The Storm
The storm swept north of us, and as happened so often, it wasn't as bad as the hype they predicted. it's windy, but it's always windy here due to our proximity to the Gulf. We had the same thing in the UP because we were so close to Lake Superior.
