I work for my county public school system, which is always looking for new drivers. It is not an easy job, and historically, middle school children have been the hardest to transport. Many parents seem to expect the school system to raise their children, and your story suggests that this expectation is universal.

FSI......

For some reason this reminded me of a time in the past when my Florida Son was between jobs and he took up Substitute Teaching for a semester.  It was quite a trip for him and he was good at making students think but there were a lot of funny things that he shared with me.

Hey, whatever worked to get the kiddos home. There is a shortage of school bus drivers in my area. There are "Now Hiring" signs posted in and around my Boro, with a starting pay of $29.50/hour for part-time drivers. I imagine part of the shortage issue is that kids are more unruly than they used to be. 🚸
