I Haven't Seen The Movie--Yet!. . .
But I must say that I was moved to tears by reading this account by Paul Harvey.
I could just picture Mary in my mind thinking back to Jesus as a little boy and how much more simple it was to give him comfort at that time.
When we give the death penalty in our so-called "more civilized" society, it's the surviving loved ones we punish far more than the person we're legally murdering--and, as with Jesus, some of those so-called "criminals" have actually been innocent of the crimes they were killed for.
I know that Mary wanted to go back and relive those baby and childhood days of her beloved firstborn son--yet, if she went back, she would also be knowing the future and would be looking ahead to Calvary as she picked her little boy up, hugged Him, and kissed His boo-boos.
Recently, my dad passed away. Although he'd traveled a rough road, healthwise, during the past year, he seemed to really be on the road to recovery, so his passing in the wee hours of the morning was a real shock to my mom and me.
I find myself thinking back over the past year--and, especially, over the several wonderful days (December 19-January 5) that he got to take a leave of absence from the nursing home.
When we returned him to the nursing home, it was only to get a few more things in place so that we could better have him home on a permanent basis.
Sometimes, I think over his last year on earth--other times, I find myself going back even to things that we did when I was little more than a baby.
So I know what Mary was going through--and it had to be worse for her, because the natural order of life (kids surviving their parents instead of the other way around) had been reversed.
And it's great that this movie doesn't "pretty up" what Jesus went through, because it was ugly and brutal, reflecting the part of society that will hurt others for no good reason--and, whether we like it or not, we're all guilty of driving those ugly nails!!!

You are most welcome, and I will pray for you, and please
pray for me, I am seriously considering trying to write a book to help people understand in plain simple English what they saw and experience!
