If you've been following my travelblogue, you may have seen the dedication I made last week to my father who had just had valve-replacement and bypass heart surgery. He made some great contributions to the world as a pioneering radio astronomer and as a teacher and an administrator at the Hayden Planetarium for many years. He served as a scientific advisor on the live news coverage, with Frank McGee, on CBS, I think, for several of the Apollo flights. He was friends with Isaac Asimov. And though...
