We know now that some of our emotional responses and sensations occur in the presence of certain combinations of brain chemistry. That's how the physical body does emotion. This does support the notion that emotion is the medium through which our body's consciousness communicates to our thinking consciousness--how it tries to bring our attention to changes in our physical condition, or situations we need to respond to with a conscious choice.
