Sidney Sheldon

Author Sidney Sheldon died at age 89 of complications of pneumonia, according to his publicist. Eleanor McGovern

Eleanor McGovern, the widow of former Presidential candidate George McGovern (who ran against the late Richard Nixon, and also served in the Senate), has died at age 85. Chico Chism

I found out about Chico Chism's death through one of my Chicago-related email lists. He was a blues drummer, and Chicago is famous for its blues scene. E. Howard Hunt

Although E. Howard Hunt served as a CIA director at one point in his career - among other political jobs - he was perhaps best known as what he called himself: "a Watergate conspirator." Pookie Hudson

Pookie Hudson, lead singer for the group The Spaniels, has died at age 72. The cause of death, according to his publicist, was that he had complications from cancer of the thymus. Darlene Conley

Darlene Conley was not that well-known, but those of us who watch The Bold and the Beautiful (a CBS soap opera) recognize her as the woman who brought the sassy Sally Spectra (the owner of an off-the-rack fashion house) to life.
