My very first published work, in 1989This poem was written at the age of 13 or 14, and has transformed me from a sad girl to a strong woman, in a matter of a few dozen words. This is when I realized my poetry had the power to change my life. It is, essentially, the moment I was born a writer. It's the earliest work I have. Sweet Child...
