Dissent is one thing, and it is important in our society to dissent. But to dissent in the manner done by Ted Kennedy (who has directly caused a human's death, by the way) is irresponsible and leads to the deaths of our troops and others in the war zone. Their public comments regarding the entire Iraq, war on terror, POW issues are directly correlated to more deaths of Americans in the Middle East. I consider their comments to be traitorous. Don't get me wrong. We should be discussing the issues, but the discussion concerning the war should be going on in private, between the White House and Congress. We've got a dozen or so soldiers who mistreated Iraqi prisoners. That is bad and they should be appropriately punished. But, the world and our own press, and Democrats in Congress are treating this as worse than anything done by Saddam's people when he was in power. It appears to me as if the politicians are starting to really get in the way of the generals in theater in Iraq. Why are we holding back? Sure, Iraqi security is now "in charge" in Fallujah, but not without the backing of the Marines, and how long can they hold on? We, using our forces effectively, should go "all out" in securing the various cities of Iraq an leave no doubt as to the necissity for the terrorists and rebels who don't want democracy to turn in their weapons, stop the killing, or...
