Epidemic of really bad education?

It has now been four times that I have called Alltel directory assistance and have been told that the business I wish to reach is located on "SOW-thern Avenue." The people saying this don't have any particular type of accent upon which I can blame this bizarre pronunciation. They don't sound like... Sign in to see full entry.
