I understand that someone paid $4,100.00 for a rare black watermelon, in Japan. I assume that it is being bought for the seeds. This could be valuable as a novelty type watermelon and could be a big hit with shoppers. I also understand that a soup company offered a lot of money once, for a coreless carrot. The cores of carrots are bitter, compared to the rest of the carrot, and when the coreless carrot was cloned it was a valuable advance for canned soup. I would be willing to bet that McCain’s...
