Stories, Poetry and the Bible

I love storytelling. I love how a good storyteller can pull me completely into the world they have created, a world where symbols and images convey a moral message for me to learn. Poetry does a similar thing for me. Instead of conveying a message though, it conveys an experience, evoking emotion through imaginative word play, rhythm and sound. This is how I see the Bible as well. I don’t believe it to be the inerrant word of God. I see it as both a collection of stories and as poetic allegory.... Sign in to see full entry.
