fionajean,
You're absolutely right about the attitude. It's a major part of the battle, and I think attitude may be the reason that conventional cancer treatments sometimes work. Likely as not, the positive attitude has helped more than the treatment when there's success in those cases.

Just to add,

I think attitude plays a big role in recovery. We had one manager who heard she had cancer and gave up. She died within 6 months. Another lady from head office who has always been a go-getter, recovered fully. Sounds like Zelma's on the right track -She's trying the juicing. She hasn't given up.

I'll say a little prayer for Zelma
I've had someone I know gothrough chemo and it was worse for her than the cancer. If I ever get cancer, I won't tell my family and won't do chemo. Why deplete the family's medical funds? I'll have a huge blow out bash and also try the natural route. Don't give up hope - a girl I was at school got cancer and they only discovered it when it was full-blown. She was given up as a lost cause by doctors. That was 16 years ago and she's still here and the cancer's been in full remission for about 15 years now.

I remember Gilda Radner. The world lost an incredibly talented lady. I especially loved her RoseAnn RoseannaDanna (however she spelled it):

NEVER MIND!

That's absolutely true: garbage in, garbage out. Tasty as it is, there's no healing in Cheetos and cookies!

UtahAngel22,
Thanks for all the prayers. I really believe Zelma will be okay if she sticks to that program. Of course, there are outright healing miracles, too, but many times God expects us to do our part.

Flightpath,
I don't doubt that a bit, about the eye patient. Genuine healing comes from food and herbs. I love hearing reports like that!

A long time ago I read the book about Gilda Radner's experiences with Chemo and right then and there decided it would never be for me no matter what.  Keep praying and Zelma will come around.

There's no doubt, we are what we eat.  How could it be any other way?  Our body takes what we put into it and processes it and distributes the essence throughout itself.  If it ain't good, we're bad.   If it's healthy, as I understand the vegan diet to be, then it sure can't hurt.  I'm plugging for your mom's cousin.

I'll be praying for you both!

Some MDs are beginning to pay attention in cases such as this and others. An optician predicted a patient's eye surgery would be needed in a year - cataract problem. That was three years ago. The patient had adjusted diet.
