Just got word that the husband of a friend has passed away, the result of a fall that fractured his skull. He seemed to be recovering, but then suddenly didn't. He was a difficult man, a very difficult husband: causticly critical, meanly dismissive at times, an emotional bully... Think of an intellectual Archie Bunker.
