Christmas was quietly fine here--Yes, Offy, there was a GPS involved... My husband is frequently in unfamiliar cities for his fencing tournaments, and he can get lost going from one end of the house to the other... My far-flung family sent wonderful gifts, and there will be no returns, I think, this year. One of the best I got is an 11 volume set of Will and Ariel Durant's HISTORY OF CIVILIZATION. It was in the vendor mall where I offer my cards and prints, and I made sure Santa knew I had my... Sign in to see full entry.

This isn't Inchland-- It's Planet of the 70s!
My cousin sent me this blog item. Last weekend I found a JC Penney catalog from 1977. It's not often blog fodder just falls in my lap, but this was two solid inches of it, right there for the taking! I thumbed through it quickly and found my next dining room set, which is apparently made by adding upholstery to old barrels: Also, I am totally getting this for my bathroom: There's plenty more home furnishings where those came from, however I'm not going to bore you with that. Instead, I'm going... Sign in to see full entry.

A new Inchland coming!
For all you explorers of Inchland, there will soon be photos of a new region of the Inchland world: the land of Hole-in-the-Wall, and Goblin Valley, and the Cliff Dwellings of the Canyonlands... We are currently travelling Colorado and Utah, and these places, of course, have Inchlands within them... For seekers of Tolkien's Middle-earth, I am happy to tell you we have discovered the Trollshaws north of Rivendell, and will also have a few images to post upon getting from there, back again to our... In Inchland, the Fairies are the light hearts!
You will often find lanterns hung for their parties and dances, especially in the winter when everything else is grey and bleak. Sign in to see full entry.

Intimate Inchland
I call this the Niche Garden, a narrow space on the western side of the Great Castle, the largest of the three castles in this vicinity. This is a little grotto down on the eastern side of the Great Castle. You will recognize this berry plant from earlier pictures-- This is how it looks now, this spring, with its winter-worn leaves and new sprouts. I have been watching this for the past three years, and it grows very slowly, not at all like the rampant vines that range the area all around. Sign in to see full entry.

More Inchland Gardens
This garden is just left of the ones in the preceding post, and the next one is just left of this one-- you can see the same tall grey bit to the far right in the image below, as in the far left above. This garden is in another area altogether. Sign in to see full entry.
