A Tree Grows in Brooklyn for Friday, April 27, 2007

You might remember the job I applied for and interviewed twice for, and was so terribly disappointed when I didn't get it? When the woman called to tell me that she was going with someone else, I nearly cried over the phone. To save face, I sent her and the other woman who interviewed me thank you notes, asking if there was anything I could do to get more experience. So my night was an interesting one. I ate dinner with my parents, who were going to the opera afterwards. It was actually quite a nice visit from them. They didn't want to have drive in themselves, so they got a driver. After dinner, my parents were dropped off at Lincoln Center, then I was to be taken home. The driver said, "I don't know New York all that well. Tell me how to get to where you're going." Which was my apartment in Brooklyn. The driver is this very nice guy in his 50s and my...
