Birthdays and phone calls

I should have mentioned this yesterday: it was Chris's birthday. I called him in the evening after I got back from work. He'd spent the whole day in the company of his family members. I told him to go out and party like it was his 21st (he's 22 now). Go grab a beer, or something. We talked for a good long while after that; it was great to hear his voice. I miss Chris, and I can't wait to get back to school. I'm staying at American until the 14th, living with some friends of Jen's for a week,... Sign in to see full entry.

Fire drills and TV stations

So, a lot has happened in the past 24 hours. I gave a tour yesterday, which was uneventful- at least I didn't get lost and confused, as in the last time I gave a tour. The people on my tour were from Wisconsin, and they were accompanied by a staff member from another office with whom the visitors are friendly. Friendship

No wonder they say that girls are difficult and understand! I will never understand some of my friends. Amanda and Julia, the friends I was talking about a few days ago, are friends again. Then a little while ago Brandon and Julia had a massively massive fight, and she kicked him out. He has since retreated with... Sign in to see full entry.

Competition

Its Sunday afternoon, and I haven't posted in a while- well... actually two days, but it feels like a long time. Plus, I'm bored. I went to look at how much I've made so far (and I've only been blogging for about ten days, so I didn't expect much). $.27. 27 cents! There isn't a cent sign key on the keyboard, even! Not that I'm complaining; of course blogging isn't how I'm making a living. Its a competitive market out there, eh? It reminds me of the competitiveness on Amazon.com. Thousands of... The mail

Part of my job is to handle the mail. It comes in three times a day, and I have to sort it. Its a pain in the derrierre. There are the "Dear Colleague" letters, which are handed over to the Legislative Assistants; constituent and company letters which directly address an issue of concern; newspapers; solicitations; invitations. Some of the constituent letters are beyond belief. Let me talk about one in particular. Today we recieved a letter from a 48-year-old man who claims he makes six figures...
