This is about the age I was when I came home one night saying, “Mom! This guy wanted to put his hand down my blouse- what should I do???” And, being the totally Lutheran-religious Midwest- 60’s community we were, she said, “ OMG, he’s horrible, that is absolutely NOT allowed until you are married!”... Time alone-- at last!
I finally have some time alone today-- most of the whole day, in fact!. It’s such a treat for me to have a long stretch of time that is just for me. I can choose exactly what I want to do with every living minute of it! Pure heaven. As much as I love my hubby, it’s crucial for us to have some time... Sign in to see full entry.
It's a tough job, but someone has to do it...
I know this isn't like one of my usual posts but I was intrigued by this. Here's the story from MSN news. Would you visit one of these places? It sure brings up a lot of questions... Madam Heidi Fleiss is back—and building an all-male bordello in the desert. Standing on a desolate stretch of... Sign in to see full entry.

Things I didn't know before...
Tonight I talked with my good friend Sarah (not her real name) who was also a volunteer for my nonprofit organization. She and I found each other way back when she was roaming around the marina, asking me to sign off on her ‘get out of jail free- donate time to a nonprofit organization’ letter. I... Second Boat
After losing the first boat in the divorce (previous post), I was determined to get another one, one way or another. So, I created a nonprofit organization designed to take kids out to sea for ‘character- building’ experiences. It was a ton of work and, it did build a lot of character– for me! After... Another use for duct tape...
During the years that I was single, I somehow always managed to find myself living with termites. Those creepy flying little buggers… they really gross me out! One of the places I rented, ‘The Tree House’ (so named because it was an upper part of a house and had outdoor stairs going to the third... Sign in to see full entry.
First Boat
I’ve been in love with boats and the water from an early age. However, I had to wait until the year 1985 to get my first boat. She was a beauty-- a 32-foot Grand Banks wooden trawler, a 1962, hull number 16. We bought her from a bread truck driver who had slaved away for 10 years, fixing her up. The... Are there any Chinese bloggers among us?
Lately, I've been tuning into a little news again, and yesterday I saw this amazing story about the internet in China. Evidently, there are 30,000 'internet censors' there; bloggers who say the 'wrong' things have their blogs shut down immediately. Yahoo and Microsoft actually cooperate with the... Tag, you're it!
Today, Grief snuck up behind me and tapped me on the shoulder. “Tag, you’re it,” it said. I spun around angrily, “What are you doing here, I thought I had you banished completely!” Grief just gave me a sad smile. I’ve been having a difficult time today with this unwelcome visitor. I thought I had... Sign in to see full entry.
