Have you ever had a “ near-death experience?” I have had MANY! One time, Marilyn asked me what I was thinking, at that particular moment, and I almost TOLD HER! Another time, I fell out of a tree, but luckily for me, the earth broke my fall, or I would STILL be falling! Most recently, Marilyn asked me, “ Who do we both know, that you think is pretty?” I know from past experience, that any question that begins with, “ Who do we both know, ” is a TRICK question! It is a foregone conclusion that our next president will be of Irish extraction. I think that he will be the first Irish president since JFK, and I wonder why? The talking heads on the evening news all say that his campaign has been a tough, uphill struggle, because he is also fighting prejudice, (!) nearly half a century after John Kennedy was elected! Are the American voters still uncomfortable with the Irish, indeed bigoted and reluctant to vote for a candidate, just because of his Irish... Sign in to see full entry.
