I hate to admit it, but I was self-aware, self-absorbed, self-satisfied, self-confident, self-motivated, (to do exactly whatever caught my interest, and seemed like a good idea, at the time, and nothing else,) exactly like the tweenagers of today, In 1955. I remember hearing or saying each of these comments, personally! After all these years, you may think that these are exagerations, but this is only because you weren't there.
