Sometimes, someone has to take something unpleasant.

Some relationships are smooth sailing, like rubbing baby lotion on a baby. I had that experience once with life. Yesterday's events could be classified as rubbing also, but rather like rubbing a dog's coat upwards. Do you know how that feels to the pet? Well, I can only imagine since I felt I had... Birthdays are for children, are they?

My mother gave birth to two girls. I never managed to do that, instead I have one daughter. She gets all my love, all the love I would have given two or three or so many children. We celebrate her birthday officially tomorrow. Since tomorrow is a work day we decided to have a brunch party at a... Sign in to see full entry.

What a nice review

Several days ago I rushed to the computer to say hello to my blogger/friends and found something so unexpected. A fellow blogger had taken the time to write a post regarding me! Yes, Cameraeye was the subject. Not only did he research my date of entering Blogitville, he had read many of my posts and... Sign in to see full entry.

Onions make you cry

With the holiday menu at hand, I purchased my groceries and that included 10 lbs of onions. Yes, I used 7 medium sized onions in my pickle making (12 qts), then we put them in the hamburger patties, used them on the hot dogs and the cooked hamburgers. Today I have about 5 onions left. Now the... Sign in to see full entry.

Pickles, Pickles and More Pickles

I started making pickles this morning. Then was interrupted with the need to drive the truck to the landfill. The truck acted funny and needed things done to it right away. So, we did the oil check, transmission check, water and gas, adjusted all that was needed. We emptied the truck. I showered,... Sign in to see full entry.

Beverly Sills Dies

Such a vibrant life is gone. As a music lover I will miss this lady. She had always appeared to be uplilfting and happy. Bubbles as she was called would discuss her youth and without pretense. Miriam Silberman was born in Brooklyn N.Y. New York Mayor Koch called her an "empire unto herself." What a... Sign in to see full entry.

The fighting had ended, and two Generals met

Today I ventured into the past. We drove to Appomattox Court House VA to the McLean House. The final day of the Civil War had taken place and two tired Generals, both educated at the Academy met and spoke about the Spanish War and then drew up the terms of surrender. It was April 10, 1865. The war... Sign in to see full entry.

On growing dreams and tomatoes

I think there is a direct relationships to both growing ideas and tomatoes. The tomatoes need caring, weeding and some growth stimulant. That sounds just like human needs too. This new relationship I am involved with is that way. We spend time together doing some activities of gardening, reading,... Sign in to see full entry.

Awake, awake,awake..

Now that is a good way to be in class, while driving a car or listening to your friend, but at 2:30 A.M. it is a little disturbing. We had a good day. Many little odd jobs were done, but something that surprised me was the battery on my car was totally dead. The automatic door lock would not release... Sign in to see full entry.

Six months and 3 days until NewYear 2008!

Don't you hate thinking that far ahead? Well I got a new planner, you know the 18 month kind. So, maybe I can see at a glance the days passing by. I am planning my gift giving early this year, and I must be finished by September first for the big gifts because I will be enroute to the Southwest and... Sign in to see full entry.
